The Mountain Operations Department offers positions for those that enjoy working primarily outdoors with guests.
Mountain Assistant - This position is now filled for winter 2020/21
In this P/T position you will be responsible for assisting guests with questions in various areas of the resort. To help assist with compliance of Covid-19 protocols in indoor and outdoor facilities. This position will be outdoors predominantly with some indoor work as required.
Base Radio Operator - This position is now filled for winter 2020/21
In this position you will be responsible for supporting efficient mountain communications through the use and monitoring of the base VHF radio and telephone systems. You must have clear speaking skills, work well under pressure and be able to multi-task. This is an indoor position.
Lift Operator
In this position you would be responsible for providing guests with friendly service as you assist them getting on and off the chairlifts, maintain the load and unload areas, and operate the chairlifts safely. You must be able to ski or snowboard and be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Excelling through the first couple weeks of training, opportunities in a leadership role within this department may be available.
Traffic & Grounds Attendant
In this position you would perform a variety of duties including: set up, maintaining and taking down parking lots, clearing walkways, entrances, and fire huts, and responding to incidents on our 12.5 km road. There is a possibility to attend the Traffic Control Person Training (approx. $250 value) for keen individuals of the team. You must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions. With a valid drivers licence and excelling through the first couple weeks of training, opportunities in a leadership role within this department may be available.
Building Services Attendant
In this position, you would be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitization of all building facilities including restaurants, lodges, work spaces and restrooms. With a valid drivers licence and excelling through the first couple weeks of training, opportunities in a leadership role within this department may be available.
Snow Groomer - This position is now filled for winter 2020/21
This position operates a Snowcat and is responsible for grooming the ski runs at the resort, positions typically work in the late evenings and overnight. Previous experience as a groomer is required, or strong equipment operating skills.
Snow Removal - This position is now filled for winter 2020/21
This position operates our loader equipment and is responsible for removing snow from our parking lots and roadways. Flexible shifts, must have previous experience operating heavy equipment.
Shuttle Bus Coordinator - This position is now filled for winter 2020/21
During high volume times (weekends and Christmas break), a team of coordinators are responsible for managing the shuttle bus program both at Mt Seymour and Parkgate to validate tickets/reservations, manage onload and offload of the bus and answer guest questions. These members need to be self motivated, intuitive to all levels of the operation. A valid drivers license is an asset.
Terrain Parks - This position is now filled for winter 2020/21
In this position you would be responsible for maintaining the risk management within the terrain park including shaping take offs and landings, ensuring signage is posted and assessing the safety of jumps and features proactively and after an incident. You must be able to ski or snowboard and be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
