Ski Instructor | Full-Time
Live in the City. Work on the Mountain.
Mt Seymour Snow School offers a rare opportunity to work as a professional ski/snowboard instructor without needing to relocate to a resort town. Located in North Vancouver, Mt Seymour is minutes from downtown Vancouver and easily accessible by transit and a free staff shuttle, making a true city–mountain lifestyle possible.
We are a family‑owned North Shore mountain known for our supportive culture, high professional standards, and respect for our staff. We are where generations of Vancouverite families learn to ski & snowboard.
Why Choose Mt Seymour?
• Industry‑leading pay structure that compensates instructors for their full working shift.
• Reliable access to paid work across day and night operations
• Supportive, close‑knit team environment at a family‑owned mountain
• Paid training and ongoing development with pathways into senior and leadership roles
• North Vancouver location that supports balance, stability, and community
A Pay Model That Respects Your Time
At Mt Seymour Snow School, instructors are paid for their entire worked shift, minus their meal break. This includes teaching time, standby time, time between lessons, mandatory training, and assigned alternate or support duties.
This approach is not standard across the ski and snowboard industry. At many resorts, instructors are paid only when actively teaching, even though they are required to be on site for much longer. At Mt Seymour, if you are scheduled for work and actively working, you are paid.
This model supports fairer compensation, more predictable earnings, and a more respectful and professional working environment.
Training, Growth & Community
We invest in our instructors through paid onboarding and required training, ongoing in‑house clinics and development opportunities, certification support, and scholarship opportunities for returning staff. Our Snow School culture values your input, teamwork, safety, and long‑term staff retention.
These are seasonal full-time positions (30-40 hours per week), and 4-6 days a week (extra work during peak operating periods). Mt Seymour pays instructors for their full shifts, setting a new standard in the industry. No matter if you're teaching, assisting, or on standby, your dedication is always recognized and rewarded, and you will accrue more hours each day. Be part of a snow school that values you.
Our season typically runs from December to mid-April, with on-board training for new Full-Time staff in early December.
