Fall Foraging 101
An educational hike on Mount Seymour in North Vancouver, offering a fantastic opportunity to explore the diverse and lush ecosystems of the Pacific Northwest. The trails wind through dense forests of silver fir, western hemlock, and red cedar, where the cool, moist climate fosters a variety of mushrooms and plants.
What’s Included
- Guided hike 2 or 3 hours.
- Basic foraging instruction (identification of common edible plants and mushrooms).
- Safety briefing.
- A small reference booklet on local species.
- A warm cup of tea to end the tour.
Please note that foraging is prohibited in BC Provincial Parks and therefore no plants or mushrooms will be physically gathered or collected during the tour. The purpose of this tour is to provide an education for participants to enable them to ID plants and mushrooms safely.

3-hour Tour
Our 3-hour tours are located mid mountain starting from the Deep Cove lookout trail head. This tour will deep dive into identification and give a robust overview of edible mushroom & plant identification and preparation techniques. This hike requires an intermediate level of fitness.
2-hour Tour
Our 2-hour tours are located upper mountain on our Goldie lake loop trail. This tour will give you a in depth look at the edible plants on the mountain and how to prepare them as well as identifying any mushrooms you may come across. This hike requires a moderate level of fitness.
