Heavy Duty Mechanic

Title: Heavy Duty Mechanic 
Department: Mountain Operations
Reports to: Heavy-Duty Mechanic Forman

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is a varied position responsible for maintaining our company’s entire fleet of vehicles and equipment, including loaders, snow groomers, snowplows, and buses.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• You will identify and prioritize vehicle maintenance requirements
• You will carry out vehicle equipment maintenance and repairs on all Mt Seymour vehicles and machinery as needed
• You will ensure that all manufacturer’s guidelines and government regulations regarding vehicle maintenance and repair are followed
• Shipping and receiving of materials as required
• Maintaining records regarding maintenance work performed, materials used, quality, and cost control
• You will ensure a high standard in all finished work while remaining cost-effective
• You’ll be responsible for thorough record keeping and the reporting of equipment status including but not limited to work performed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must hold an Inter-Provincial Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman’s ticket or equivalent experience
• Ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision
• Willing and able to work in all weather conditions while performing labor-intensive duties
• Own vehicle required to travel to and from work

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 

• Five 8-hour shifts/week, some weekends and evenings. (October-April)
• Four 10-hour shifts/week during the off-season (May-September)
