Community
Our community isn't just where we're located. It's the people around us, the charities and organizations who we align ourselves with, and those who spend their time with us, both at work and for fun.
Tsleil Waututh Nation
Mt Seymour is located on the unceded territory of the Tsleil Waututh Nation. We are actively working towards reconciliation with our neighbors at the bottom of the hill through learning, events, and working together at every opportunity. We believe that friendship, knowledge and listening are a great way to continue our journey with the Tsleil Waututh Nation
Indeginous Life Sport Academy
Our friends at ILSA create social change and development opportunities with Indigenous youth through unstructured sports. We are proud to have been able to support them for over ten years with access to skiing and snowboarding.
Backpack Buddies
Many BC children depend on school meal programs throughout the week and each weekend brings stress, fear, and empty cupboards. Every Friday, they deliver bags of food to hungry kids across BC containing meals and snacks to last them the weekend and beyond. We've been working with Backpack Buddies by offering a discounted adult and child lift ticket on Tuesday afternoons and evenings where $20 goes directly to Backpack Buddies. We've raised over $20k!
Vancouver Adaptive Snowsports VASS
Vancouver Adaptive Snowsports welcome students of all ages and disabilities, using adaptive equipment and specialized teaching techniques to maximize independence on the snow. To meet the needs of its members, VASS offers programs from beginner to advanced, which include snowboarding, sit ski, stand-up skiing and advanced adaptive ski racing. We are thrilled to be able support them with use of our facilities.
Youth Unlimited
Youth Unlimited has been making a difference in the lives of youth since the early 1940s. Working with Mt Seymour through their Mountain Life program, we been working together to offer marginalized, at-risk youth in East Vancouver and Burnaby the opportunity to explore the physical, social, mental, and spiritual benefits of life away from traffic, city noise, and WiFi through weekly skiing and snowboarding .
Chill Foundation
Snowboarding has been the cornerstone of Chill’s positive youth development programs since inception in 1995. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of sliding on a board in the snow, sharing stories and excitement with friends on the lift, and succeeding at your first turns. There’s nothing quite like the moment when you realize you’re capable of a lot more than you imagined, and that’s why snowboarding is so perfectly aligned to aid in self-empowerment and growth. With lessons and access to Mt Seymour, we are proud to be one of their partners.
