Visual Coordinator

Photographer/Videographer – Winter 2026/27
Mt Seymour is looking for a Visual Coordinator who will use their creativity and technical skills to capture the essence of Mt Seymour through striking photographs and engaging video. You’ll join a small, dynamic marketing team where no two days are the same, creating the images and video that drive our marketing campaigns and social media.
You’ll already be a confident skier or snowboarder, comfortable filming on the move and working outdoors in snow and mountain weather for long days. This is a full-time seasonal position based at Mt Seymour, reporting to the Director of Marketing. It includes some evening and weekend work, including night skiing shoots.
This is a chance to shape how a much-loved local mountain is seen all season, with real creative input and a portfolio of published work to show for it.

Key Responsibilities

Photography & Videography
  • Capture compelling photographs of the mountain’s natural beauty, guests, activities, events and facilities, in all conditions from bluebird days to night skiing.
  • Edit and enhance photos for maximum visual impact and storytelling.
  • Plan, shoot and edit high-quality video that captures the spirit of skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, tubing and the wider mountain experience.
  • Create short-form vertical content for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts that is platform-native and responsive to trends.
  • Use cinematic techniques to tell compelling stories, including longer-form pieces for campaigns and the website.
  • Handle post-production, including colour correction, sound editing, music and graphics, for each platform.
  • Capture aerial footage by drone where conditions, regulations and permissions allow.

Content Creation
  • Work with the Marketing team to develop ideas and concepts that resonate with our target audiences.
  • Prepare storyboards, scripts and shot lists, and coordinate talent, so that each shoot delivers a coherent story.
  • Obtain model releases and follow Mt Seymour’s privacy and consent policies, particularly when photographing or filming minors.
  • Organize the photo and video library, including exporting existing footage and RAW files, applying consistent naming and tagging, and keeping backups up to date, so the Marketing team can find assets easily.
  • Liaise with departments across the mountain (ski school, events, food and beverage, rentals and others) to plan shoots and asset needs.

Qualifications
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada for the full contract period (to 30 April 2027).
  • A diverse photography and videography portfolio that includes action sports.
  • Proven experience creating short-form social video content.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Lightroom and Premiere Pro. After Effects, DaVinci Resolve or CapCut is an asset.
  • Strong shooting and post-production skills, including low-light and night photography.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team.
  • Able to juggle multiple projects and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Confident skier or snowboarder, able to keep pace with riders and move through varied terrain, including off-piste, while carrying filming equipment.
  • Able to work outdoors for extended periods in cold, wet conditions and carry 10–15 kg of gear.
  • Available for evenings and weekends when required.

Assets
  • Transport Canada drone pilot certificate (Basic or Advanced).
  • Graphic design skills an advantage but not essential.

Terms of Employment
  • Full-time seasonal position, approximately 40 hours per week.
  • Start date: 1 December, 2026, with a contract to 30 April 2027 and the possibility of extension for the right candidate.
  • $32 per hour.
  • Equipment and software provided.
  • Complimentary season pass and shuttle bus pass.
  • A range of industry discounts and perks.
  • All content created belongs to Mt Seymour, but you’re welcome to use your work in your personal portfolio.
