Rental Service Shop Technician

Title: Rental Service Shop Technician
Department: Rentals
Reports to: Service Shop Supervisor

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:


Reporting to the Service Shop Supervisor, this is a seasonal position November to April. Flexibility in shifts is important, during operations shifts should be a mix of day shifts and afternoon-evening hours, with an expectation to be working weekends and holidays. As a service shop technician, you will be expected provide excellent guest service. You are here to make the guests skiing/snowboarding experience a memorable one. You will take on the responsibility of maintaining and servicing rental and guest equipment. You will maintain cleanliness of Service Shop and have safety as your number one priority. 

Responsibilities

  • Opening and closing the shop following cash out procedures.
  • Maintenance and repair of rental equipment.
  • Recommending and executing appropriate service of customer equipment.
  • Follow ASTM standards when adjusting ski bindings.
  • Perform guest ASTM tests, plus perform ASTM in season and end of season inspections.
  • Often working alone, must be organised and self motivated to complete daily quotas.

  • You can utilize safe and efficient methods while working on ski and snowboard equipment to ensure that a high standard of service is provided to guests and staff at Mt Seymour
  • You take pride in the condition of ski/snowboarding equipment
  • You can adjust ski and snowboard equipment in line with Mt Seymour’s policies and procedures to achieve a safe and comfortable fit for all guests. Having technical certification in Head-Tyrolia, Marker, Salomon, Rossignol, Fischer, and BOA is a plus, Mt Seymour provides training and certification should you need it
  • You can ensure all rental forms are completed in a neat and accurate manner

WHAT WE REQUIRE FROM YOU:

  • Completion of grade 12,
  • Able to lift 40 lbs of equipment/gear for up to 1 km.
  • Sustain physical activity for 8 working hours.
  • Stand for 8 working hours.
  • Minimum 1 year experience of alpine ski and snowboard equipment servicing.
  • All service shop technicians must be 19 years old as of December 1, 2025.
  • Must be available for Christmas and March school breaks, Family Day long weekend, morning, and night shifts.
  • Excellent communication and guest service skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and be a supportive team member
  • Technical certification on Head-Tyrolia, Marker, Salomon, Rossignol, Fischer, BOA & more (Mt Seymour provides training and certification).

     

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 

  • Seasonal position, November through to mid-April
  • Hourly wage-$19.50-$22.75/hour (depending on experience)
