Lift Supervisor

Title: Lift Supervisor 

Department: Mountain Operations 

Reports to: Lifts Manager 

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The Lift Supervisor is responsible for the safe operation of Mt Seymour chair lifts by assisting the Lift Manager in the day-to-day running and organization of the lifts department and lift operator team. 

THIS POSITION IS RIGHT FOR YOU IF:

  • You set positive examples for your team to follow.
  • You are well organized.
  • You are capable of being the smiling, friendly face guests see when they load the chair.
  • You can shovel and move snow to create a safe loading and unload ramp.
  • You can be prepared for all-weather events on a mountain in winter.
  • You can assess guests’ needs or requirements when loading/unloading the chair.
  • You want to share the stoke with our guests and keep the energy high.

WHAT WE REQUIRE FROM YOU:

  • Previous experience working in lift operations at a ski resort or a similar experience in another industry is an asset but not a requirement.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills through the progress coaching of others.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish strong working relationships with staff, coworkers, and guests.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to provide timely and high-quality service to guests and staff.
  • The ability to work well under pressure in a high-volume environment and able to reason and react with quick, thoughtful judgment.
  • Willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions while performing labor-intensive duties.
  • Competent skier or snowboarder.
  • Class 5 driver’s license required.
  • Own transportation is an asset.
  • Must be 18yrs +.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Seasonal position, October through to mid-April.
  • Hourly wage, starting at $20 per hour.
  • Complimentary season pass and shuttle bus pass.
