Full-Time, Year Round Position

Job Title: IT Support Technician

Location: MT Seymour, North Vancouver, BC
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and reliable IT Support Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to end users, maintaining computer systems and peripherals, assisting with network-related tasks, and supporting SQL-based applications and databases.

This position is ideal for someone with strong troubleshooting skills, a customer-service mindset, and a solid foundation in IT infrastructure and database support. The role is responsible for oversight, support, and maintenance of all guest-facing technology and works closely with all our Guest Focused Departments, such as Guest Experience, Snow School and Rentals and Retail. This position is on site (not remote).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support for hardware, software, and end-user issues. 
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, and mobile devices. 
  • Troubleshoot Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office applications (MS 365), and common business software. 
  • Assist with user account management in Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environments. 
  • Monitor and troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues involving switches, wireless access points, and internet services. 
  • Perform basic network configuration and support tasks. 
  • Assist with SQL database troubleshooting, data validation, and execution of basic SQL queries. 
  • Support line-of-business applications and work with vendors when required. 
  • Document incidents, resolutions, and IT procedures. 
  • Participate in system upgrades, deployments, and other IT projects. 
  • Manage and maintain all guest-facing IT systems for the resort, including our customer CRM and POS/ticketing system.
  • Other related duties as required for the success of the mountain operation. 

Must be physically able to:

  • Lift and move IT equipment such as computers, monitors, and servers (typically 25-50 lbs.).
  • Stand or sit for extended periods
  • Work in varied weather conditions
  • Climb stairs

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 
  • 2+ years of experience in an IT support or help desk role. 
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office 365. 
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, including: 
    • TCP/IP 
    • DNS and DHCP 
    • Network switches 
    • Wireless networking (Wi-Fi) 
    • VPN connectivity 
  • Experience writing and troubleshooting basic SQL queries. 
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and user administration. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Must have access to your own transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Administration. 
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware 
  • Knowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting tools. 
  • Experience supporting business applications that utilize SQL databases. 
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or equivalent are considered an asset.

Rate of Pay

Based on compatibility with experience, qualifications, and assets. 

  • Full-time, year-round position
  • $28-$34/hour and 50% of employee benefit costs.
