Gatehouse Attendant (Mon-Wed)

Title: Gatehouse Attendant
Department: Mountain Operations    
Reports to: Mountain Communication and Facilities Manager

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:


The Gatehouse Attendant is responsible for providing security to the park through our controlled entry point after closing hours and recording information from the entrance of the park road during night hours. You will provide guests with Mt Seymour Resorts & Mount Seymour Provincial Park information. This is a graveyard shift position.

THIS POSITION IS RIGHT FOR YOU IF:

  • You can physically carry approximately 30lbs of equipment for up to 150 meters.
  • You are willing to work in all weather conditions and shovel snow periodically.
  • You can remain alert during graveyard shifts.
  • You can work in a fast-paced environment.


ASSETS

  • You have experience with security enforcement.
  • You have your Traffic Control Person Certificate.
  • You have participated in Verbal Judo Training before.
  • You have Building Security Training.

ATTRIBUTES

  • You have strong public relations and guest service skills.
  • You can stay assertive while maintaining a friendly demeanor.
  • You can work well under pressure in a high-volume environment with the ability to reason and react with quick, thoughtful judgment.
  • You can follow directions and work unsupervised.
  • You are available to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • You have a positive attitude in all weather conditions and the ability to be a supportive team member.

WHAT WE REQUIRE FROM YOU:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent and clear communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with staff and supervisory personnel.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and logging visitor/staff information
  • The ability to work well under pressure in a busy work environment and be able to reason and react with quick, thoughtful judgment.
  • Other related duties as required.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 

  •  Graveyard shift – Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights
  • Seasonal position, October 24th  through to mid-April
  • Hourly wage $18 - $22 per hour depending on experience/qualifications.
  • Complimentary season pass and shuttle bus pass.
