Out with the old and in with the new!
For the 2019/2020 winter season Mt Seymour was fitted to use an RFID ticket, pass and gate system to provide a faster and hands-free way to access our lifts!
All ski and snowboard guests will now receive an RFID ticket or pass which will be encoded with your purchased product and will allow you to pass through a gate to access the lifts.
RFID, or Radio Frequency Identification, uses a small circuit within the card to pass the specific information about your ticket/pass to the gate which will trigger it to open.
RFID Do's and Don'ts
- DO keep your ticket/pass safe within a secure zipped pocket on your LEFT side
- DO keep your ticket/pass between 24 to 48 inches from the snow so the gate can read your card
- DO reuse your Season Pass or Day Ticket by reloading online to get direct-to-lift access for future visits and great savings!
- DO be prepared to reveal your face (goggles up and face masks down) if requested by our staff. And don't forget to smile for our lane cameras!
- DON'T carry any other items in the same pocket as your RFID ticket/pass, especially cell phones, bank cards or any aluminum material such as gum wrappers
- DON'T carry more than one RFID ticket/pass at a time
- DON'T punch a hole in your ticket/pass as this could damage the RFID antenna within the card which could prevent your pass from working properly at the gate

Where will the gates be located?
RFID gates will be located at the bottom of the Mystery Peak Express and Lodge chairlifts as well as at the bottom of the Goldie Magic Carpet.
How does RFID benefit me?
Once you have collected your RFID card for the first time, you will be able to reload your ticket/pass online for future visits/seasons without the need to collect a new ticket/pass! Forget about pass printing and ticket window line ups and go direct-to-lift the moment we open! You will also be able to take advantage of our online discounts if you know the date you will be arriving by booking in advance.
Do I need to show my pass each time I arrive at a lift?
Good news, no more fumbling to show our lift attendants your ticket/pass. RFID is a hands-free system, so as long as your ticket/pass is valid and you have nothing obstructing the transmission, our gates will open automatically.
Be prepared to reveal your face (goggles up and face masks down) if requested by our staff. Our staff may request this to verify your identity.
How does Mt Seymour know that the ticket/pass belongs to me?
Using a combination of photos stored on your file (where applicable) and photos that are taken of you every time you pass through a gate, our lane attendants will be able to verify if you are the individual who is meant to be using the ticket/pass.
Be prepared to reveal your face (goggles up and face masks down) if requested by our staff. Our staff may request this to verify your identity.
NOTE: Use of your ticket/pass by anyone other than the registered ticket/pass holder, or alterations to the ticket/pass, including the creation of counterfeit tickets/passes will result in cancellation of that ticket/pass, restrictions to future purchases as well as fines of up to $500 to the ticket/pass holder and any other individuals involved. Ticket/pass holders may also incur further consequences up to and including legal action.
Where should I carry my RFID ticket/pass?
All RFID tickets/passes should be worn on the LEFT side of your person. Please try to keep your pass between 24 and 48 inches above the snow level so the antenna can properly transmit the information needed to open the gate.

What do I do if I lose my ticket/pass?
SEASON PASS HOLDERS:
If your Season Pass is lost or stolen, please notify Mt Seymour staff immediately. A $15 fee will be required to issue you a new Season Pass.
If you forget your pass, a $5 fee will be required to issue you a temporary day ticket, however the first time is on us!
DAY TICKET HOLDERS:
If you lose your Day Ticket, a $5 fee is required to issue you a new Day Ticket.

How do I reload my ticket/pass?
To reload your ticket/pass please visit our online store. Have your RFID ticket/pass accessible as you will need to enter the unique WTP number that is printed on your ticket/pass. After you have made your purchase you can head straight to the lift!
What if I accidentally put my ticket/pass through a washer or dryer?
Not to worry, RFID cards are waterproof! However, because the text on the pass is heat sensitive, your pass might look a little funny afterwards - but it should still work at the gate.

What information is stored on my ticket/pass?
With every RFID card, only the unique WTP number that is randomly generated to identify your card is stored on the card itself. The personal information we collect for our various products IS NOT stored on the card but remains within our protected user database.
