At Mt Seymour, we believe being in the mountains is incredible. Our mission is to create "wow” experiences in a mountain environment for all skillsets and abilities, and our summer programs are no exception.
Our Eco-Adventure Camp is a wilderness-based day camp for children aged 5-12, focused on nature, connection, outdoor skills, and personal growth. We’re looking for a Summer Program Supervisor to help lead an energetic team and create unforgettable outdoor experiences for campers.
As a Summer Program Supervisor, you’ll be part of a small, passionate team overseeing our summer camp operations and leading a group of Outdoor Education Guides.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll balance team supervision, program delivery, and daily operations, all while working in a beautiful mountain environment.
There is also potential for this role to extend into the winter season, supporting snowshoe tours and winter programming.
responsibilites & duties
Assist in the training and supervision of summer program instructors and volunteers, including program development and delivery. Oversee the day-to-day operations of summer programs, step in for absent instructors when necessary, and support all aspects of program delivery to ensure a safe, engaging, and smoothly run camp experience.
required qualifications & attributes
- Completed or in progress toward a degree or diploma in a related field (Education, Recreation, Biology, Environmental Sciences, etc.)
- Strong experience and knowledge of wilderness skills, safety, and outdoor etiquette
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience leading groups of children age 5-12 and/or adults
- Program development experience with a foundation in interpretive and experiential education
- Knowledge of local natural history
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR certification (required)
- Ability to provide first aid within scope if required
- A passion for the outdoors and sharing it with others
- Demonstrates social and environmental responsibility, safety awareness, flexibility, sense of humor, and a commitment to continuous learning and mentorship
- Enthusiastic, energetic, and positive attitude
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Knowledge of local First Nations history and culture considered an asset
- Experience working with children with diverse or unique needs considered an asset
- Class 5 driver’s license (Class 4 is considered an asset) considered an asset
- Familiarity with Mt Seymour summer hiking trails considered an asset
- Knowledge of Mt Seymour flora and fauna considered an asset
- Primitive survival skills and bushcraft knowledge considered an asset
- Valid Advanced First Aid (formerly OFA 3) – wage bonus available

terms of employment
- Must be available for the full employment period: June 1 – September 4, 2026
- Must be willing to complete a criminal record check
- Must be comfortable working in a mountain environment with variable weather conditions

Hourly wage range: $21.50 – $22.50 per hour
