Ski & Snowboard School Volunteers
Our programs operate throughout the day on weekends, during the Christmas and Spring Break periods, and during the evening of Wednesdays from January and February.
Volunteer Program Options
Bear Cubs Instructor Apprentice (15 years and up)
The Mt Seymour's Bear Cub Instrtuctor Apprentice Program is an exclusive program for 16 skiers and 8 snowboarders that are committed to becoming an instructor at Mt Seymour in the future. This program will run as an 8 week commitment with 1.5 hours of on snow training per week. It will focus on improving both your skiing and riding technique to meet CSIA and CASI level 1 standards, along with yur teaching and assessment skills to make you a better instructor.

Mountain Host Volunteers
Duties involve working in different areas of the resort assisting guests with directions and information, assisting with special events and working on skis or snowboards to help guests enjoy our Resort. Volunteers are mostly required weekends and during school holidays (Christmas & Spring Break ) and Monday evenings January thru until April.
In return for volunteering your time and commitment, Mt. Seymour provides a full Staff season pass, training and staff benefits.

Volunteer Program Options
A. Complimentary Staff Pass.
- For a minimum of 40 hours on-hill volunteering throughout the season plus 2 training days –volunteers will receive a complimentary volunteer season pass including a Mt Seymour Shuttle Bus Pass.
B. Complimentary Staff + Family Pass
- For a minimum of 60 hours on-hill volunteering throughout the season plus 2 training days - volunteers will receive a complimentary volunteer season pass including a Mt Seymour Shuttle Bus Pass. plus an Unlimited family pass for immediate family members.( some restrictions apply)
Qualifications
- Minimum 19 years of age.
- Intermediate skiing or snowboarding abilities *
- Must have ski/snowboard equipment
- Must enjoy working outside & be in good physical shape
- Friendly & outgoing personality
- * There are a few volunteer opportunities for non-skiing/non-snowboarding volunteers who enjoy being outdoors.

Mountain Safety Volunteers
Mountain Safety Volunteers are an important part of the safety program at Mt Seymour, working closely with our Ski Patrol department to maintain a safe experience for Mt Seymour guests. Assisting in various areas on hill such as opening and closing runs, maintaining area boundaries, ticket checking, reporting incidents, assisting paid patrollers as needed, and providing guests with directions and assistance.
The Mountain Safety Program operates on 5-hour shifts on evenings and weekday mornings. You will be assigned at least one shift each week throughout the season, starting mid December through to mid April. Mandatory enrollment and induction training will be hosted the first weekend in December. You will be invited to attend training sessions throughout the season.
Requirements:
- Advanced Skiing / Snowboarding ability.
- Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Compassionate, patient, and resilient.
- Valid minimum 40-hour first-aid certification.
