Mountain Safety Volunteers

Monday, September 30, 2019

Mountain Safety Volunteers are an important part of the safety program at Mt Seymour. Mountain Safety will work closely with Mt Seymour Ski Patrol to ensure that hazards on the mountain are mitigated. Volunteers are needed to assist in various areas on hill such as opening and closing runs, maintaining area boundaries, ticket checking, reporting incidents, and assisting paid patrollers as needed. Mountain Safety Volunteers will also act as hosts, providing guests with directions and assistance.

The Mountain Safety Program operates on both 3-hour or 6-hour weekday and evening shifts, weekend evening shifts. Volunteers will be expected to Volunteer a minimum of 6 hours every two weeks, plus an additional 2-hour training sessions every other week. This equates to roughly 60 volunteer hours a season, plus 20 hours of training over the course of 5 months. In return for volunteering your time and commitment, Mt Seymour provides Seasons Passes and tickets, training and staff benefits.
