Snow Grooming Supervisor

Winter 2022/23

Title: Snow Grooming Supervisor
Department: Mountain Operations
Reports to: Operations Manager

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Snow Grooming Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the terrain park groomers and the slope groomers to ensure the safe and efficient operating of the grooming machines to produce the highest quality skiing, snowboarding, and sliding surface possible for Mt Seymour guests.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • You will ensure the safe and efficient use of machinery including snow cats and implements and oversee and help produce the final groomed product
  • You will keep a clean, organized, and safe work environment, reporting and rectifying any unsafe acts
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of snowcats and other related work areas
  • You will identify maintenance requirements on the snowcats and communicate with the Vehicle Maintenance Department & Heavy Duty Mechanics for repairs, additionally keep accurate records regarding the operation and maintenance of the snowcat
  • You will identify the maintenance concerns of ski/snowboard runs
  • Other related duties as required

WHAT WE REQUIRE FROM YOU:

  • A valid B.C. Driver’s License
  • Previous snow grooming experience preferred
  • Experience driving Prinoth Bison X Snowcat or similar is an asset
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Ability to follow directions and work unsupervised.
  • Safety oriented
  • Willing and able to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to be a supportive team member
  • Able to work varying shifts, including graveyards
  • Must be a skier and/or snowboarder
  • Own vehicle required to travel to and from work
  • Reliable, careful, and mature

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 

  • Seasonal position, November through to mid-April
  • Hourly wage dependent on experience and qualifications
  • Complimentary season pass and shuttle bus pass
