Shred For The Cause | Weekly Starting Jan 20

Monday, March 16, 2020 - 5:00pm

Due to Covid-19, Shred for the Cause is cancelled. Thanks to all who have supported Moday night's throughout the season.

We pride ourselves at Mt Seymour as being the locals' mountain, so we invite you to join us Monday nights, 5pm to 9:30pm for the fifth season supporting a local, community-based charity called The Bloom Group. Last season we raised $27k. They have been providing some of the most progressive social services in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside for over 50 years, including low-barrier shelters for women and children.

For the 2020 season, ladies can ski and snowboard at Mt Seymour $15, with $7.50 from every lift ticket going to The Bloom Group. You are welcome to donate more to The Bloom Group if you wish and you will find them set up next to the Season Pass & Ticket Office - go and say hi and find out more on the good work and valuable services they provide. Men are welcome to come out and enjoy the evening as well. Lift tickets for men from 5pm - 10pm are $35. Men, you can also donate for the cause! Tickets will be sold out of the ticket booths at the Season Pass & Ticket Office. Ticket and rental packages will be sold in the Alpine Activity Centre.

Drinks and food specials are being served in the Rock Chute from 5pm onwards.

**New this season will be the Shred Scavenger Hunt - Every Monday there will be prizes hidden on the mountain from our sponsor Helly Hansen with information and clues being posted on the Mt Seymour Instagram - @mtseymour and Facebook - Mt Seymour. Follow us to join in the fun and find great prizes.

Shred Details:

Women and girls pay $15 at any downhill ticketing location (Alpine Activity Centre or Season Pass & Ticket Office).

Why do women and girls get a discounted area pass?
Snowboarding and skiing have been traditionally male dominated sports and here at Mt Seymour we want to equal the odds. Only around 33% of skiers or snowboarders are female and we want to encourage as many women and girls as possible to ski and snowboard to grow the sports we love. We all know that if Mom shreds then the rest of the family will follow and since we are a family mountain we need women to stay engaged and participating in mountain sports so we can pass our passion for the mountains down to the next generation.

A family that shreds together is awesome together.
