Mt Seymour is excited to be welcoming back staff and guests to our mountain. To ensure the safety of our staff and guests we are committed to delivering a number of new operational procedures following the guidelines of WorkSafe BC. For the COVID-19 BC Parks response for Mount Seymour Provincial Park visit



  • A daily Pre-Arrival Self Assessment before leaving home for work each morning.
  • Participate in training before returning to the workplace.
  • Practice personal hygiene, physical distancing, and cleaning procedures set out by the company daily.
  • Do not come to work if feeling ill.
  • Review the Return to Workplace Plan.
  • Read and understand the risk assessments for their respective department including Covid-19 practices that will have altered their daily duties.



Implement controls and procedures to reduce the risk of transmission for both guests and staff.

These include;

  • Self assessment
  • Environmental hygiene
  • Personal hygiene
  • Physical distancing
  • Contact with the public
  • First Aid Precautions and Response
  • Post signage including occupancy limits, effective hygiene practices, restricted access areas.



  • Cleaning and sanitization of all common areas and surfaces including washrooms, halls, stairwells, doors and door handles, communal equipment, kitchens and lunchrooms daily.
  • Cleaning of personal workspaces multiple times throughout the day .
  • Radios will be assigned to individuals and labelled with their radio call numbers.
  • Workers with offices should eat within their offices. Workers who share a lunchroom with other workers should stagger their breaks as well as cleaning and sanitizing before and after their break/eating takes place.
  • Company vehicles should be used by one or two employees at a time. In situations where that is not possible, use of facemasks during the journey. Company vehicles should be cleaned and disinfected before and after use.



  • Two metre physical distancing must always be followed or implement other control measures or the use of PPE.
  • Staggered start schedules and occasional working from home have been instituted to allow for physical distancing.
  • Reduced room capacities.



  • Handwashing on arrival to work, before and after breaks, after handling cash or mail, tools and/or equipment.
  • Where 2-meter physical distancing cannot be maintained, workers will be required to wear a cloth mask to protect themselves and others.
  • Workers should avoid touching their eyes, nose and mouth, cough, or sneeze into the bend of the elbow, dispose used tissues as soon as possible and wash their hands afterwards.
  • Workers should put on, use, and take off personal protective equipment safely and discard in garbage bag promptly.
  • Common greetings such as handshakes, high fives and hugs should be avoided.



If a worker tests positive for Covid-19, the following will occur.

  • Workers who have been in contact with the staff member will be notified and must self-isolate for 10 days and seek testing or medical aid if symptoms develop.
  • Work areas potentially contaminated by Covid-19 will be isolated until a full deep clean and sanitization can be completed. Any clothing, soft materials, equipment, etc. must be cleaned and sanitized before others can enter the area or use the equipment.
