We are currently recruiting for a full time year round Millwright Supervisor to join our Operations Department.

This position is responsible for overseeing the direct repair and maintenance of all aspects of our lifts as well as providing supervisory support to our Vehicle Maintenance and Building Maintenance operations at the resort. This is a management position reporting to our Operations Manager.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Mountain Operations Manager, the Millwright Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the direct repair and maintenance of all aspects of our resort ski lifts, while also providing some supervisory support to our Vehicle Maintenance and Building Maintenance Departments.

Responsibilities:
To uphold Mt Seymour's mandate to "excite and engage everyone in mountain recreation by providing fun, safe and enriching experiences".
To uphold Mt Seymour's Core Values; Safety, Fun, Integrity, Accessibility and Environmental Stewardship.
Oversee the work of trades staff and apprentices including; lift maintenance, vehicle maintenance and building maintenance a team of approximately 12 staff
Hire, train and evaluate the work performance of required trades and maintenance staff.
Create/maintain training manuals
Schedule ongoing and preventative maintenance of Mt Seymour facilities, machinery and equipment.
Establish and oversee outside maintenance contractors for both regular and emergency repairs and ensure that energy resources are available and properly utilized.
Manage inventories as they relate to maintenance areas, tools and equipment.
Monitor and enforce cost controls in regards to departmental projects and functions.
Maintain all required records in regards to vehicles, electrical, building, lift maintenance and snow removal.
Coordinate and monitor projects that are required on Mount Seymour.
Source and purchase required equipment and tools.
To be aware of and follow existing guidelines in regards to government regulations (i.e. Z98 Code, building codes, etc.).
Ensure the adherence of health and safety regulations when self and staff are performing tasks.
Report and rectify any unsafe acts
Adherence to the maintenance budget and planning.
Ensure the maximum proficiency and efficiency within the maintenance department (cross training staff, etc.).
Qualifications:

Millwright journeyman combined with 5 to 7 years of relevant experience.
Ideally previous ski industry or related experience.
Previous supervisory experience
Knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong knowledge of maintenance record keeping systems.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and time management skills.
Analytical and problem solving skills required.
Strong supervision and leadership skills to delegate duties and motivate staff.
Ability to be a supportive team member.
Willing and able to work in all weather conditions while performing labour intensive tasks
Able to work a flexible schedule to coincide with operational requirements
The ability to work well under pressure.
Valid WHMIS certificate
Valid Confined Space Entry certificate
Valid drivers license and own vehicle

Shift schedule - position works 5 days out of 7 during the winter operating period, and four 10 hour shifts during the period May to October.
